Be prepared! Whilst the Comedy takes places inside the Chapel, the bar and food stall are outdoors. Although we can’t rely on the British weather, we will endeavour to ensure Ashlyns Festival Comedy Night will go ahead come rain or shine. However, any decision to cancel in the event of extreme weather or exceptional circumstances will be made on the day, so please keep up to date via the website and social media.

  • Every person attending the event will require a ticket
  • This will be exchanged for a wristband and must be worn at all times whilst on site as proof of entry.
  • Photocopies of tickets will NOT be accepted.
  • All tickets are numbered and cannot be duplicated.
  • Tickets are non-refundable.


  • PLEASE NOTE: CARD PAYMENTS preferred, cash will be accepted.
  • Card payments not guaranteed by our external Food and Drink stalls.

  • Cars can be left on Friday nights at owners’ risk – Ashlyns School and Ashlyns Festival do not take any responsibility for cars left.
  • There is limited disabled parking available. Please email asa@ashlyns.herts.sch.uk to reserve a space upon the production of a valid badge.
  • We respectfully ask all our guests to park with due care and consideration to other road users and residents, and NOT park on Chesham Road
  • Coram Close entrance will be closed to cars and pedestrians.
  • Vehicles and their contents are parked at their owners’ risk and we cannot accept any responsibility for losses or thefts of any kind on site.


Ashlyns Festival Comedy Night is hosted by Ashlyns School, which is a 10mins walk uphill from the centre of Berkhamsted, and 20mins walk uphill from Berkhamsted Station.

  • There will be licensed Bar Marquee serving a range of locally brewed bottled Beers, Ales and Ciders, wines and prosecco, and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • The Bar Marquee will accept card payments.
  • Soft Drinks will be available to purchase


  • There are toilets on site, situated in the school and manned at all times.


This will be in operation throughout the event. If you are lucky enough to look under 25, you will be asked to prove you are 18 or over when purchasing alcohol. Please bring photographic ID!! The only acceptable documents are PASS Card, Passport, Photo Driving Licence.


Please be considerate towards other Festival Comedy Night goers; there will be a smoking area – please stick to this area; smoking is strictly prohibited in the Activity Areas, Bars, Copse, inside any marquees


  • Strictly no photos or filming allowed of the Comedy Night – you will be asked to stop. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave.
  • Photography/filming/recording for professional and commercial use is NOT permitted without prior consent and authorisation from Event Leaders.
  • By buying a ticket and attending the event, you are consenting to be included in photographic, filmed and visual promotion of the event, by an authorised event photographer/ASHLYNS TEAM member.


  • Will only be only permitted upon the discretion of the Ashlyns Festival Team and Security (please keep hold of your ticket in case of an emergency evacuation and re-entry is required).
  • No admittance once the event starts – you will have to wait for an interval.
  • In the case of emergencies, please contact a member of the Event Team or Security for further help and assistance.


  • There is disabled access to the Chapel and Toilets via a ramp
  • There is limited disabled parking – please contact us to let us know.
  • Please let us know if you are a wheelchair user so we can accommodate your space


Dogs are NOT permitted, with the exception of guide dogs/assistance dogs. You will be asked to leave the Festival site by security, and tickets will not be refunded.


  • STRICTLY NO alcohol will be permitted to be brought onto site. Security will be checking all bags upon entry and have the right to confiscate any items deemed dangerous, illegal or offensive.


  • The event closes strictly at 11pm.
  • We ask for your cooperation in leaving promptly.
  • Bar will stop serving by 10.30pm.
  • Food vendor will stop serving food at 8pm.
  • We ask you to be considerate of local residents and neighbours when leaving the event site, and to take your rubbish and belongings with you; this is a school site and so we need to be mindful of how we leave it.


  • There will be a zero tolerance policy in force.
  • The Festival Management reserves the right to restrict entry.
  • The Event Team reserves the right to refuse admission or eject people from the site for anti-social or threatening behaviour, actions likely to cause damage or injury, or failure to comply with the reasonable request of the Event Team.
  • Entry will also be refused to those who appear drunk or under the influence of drugs.
  • Security will search all bags at entry, and anything considered illegal or offensive will be confiscated and you may be asked to leave or be ejected from the site.
  • Those found to be in possession of illegal substances may be reported to the Police.
